It Just Can't Be That Simple

  Crash and Leak
This weekend I learned that crashing causes leakage.

Last week I decided it was time to start venturing forth sans pad. Work and lounging around home are no problem. Everything is nice & dry.

Saturday rolled around & the weather was 50 with blue sky. So I broke out my full suspension mountain bike & headed for the hills behind my house. Being my first time out this year I was a little rusty. Couple that with the wet/slippery conditions & I had a few intimate encounters with terra firma. Unfortunately I was a little bold in my attempt to ride sans pad. By the time I left the mountain I was diplaying a rather odd "sweat pattern". Needless to say I was not stopping to have any conversations.

On Sunday I headed out for my second atttempt at snowboarding. Even though I was just on the "bunny hill", it was a blast. I feel like I did a fairly good job. I was able to link some gentle turns and felt comfortable & in control. Well that is untill I started to get tired. Then I started catching edges. At that point the dismounts just got more & more spectacular. Even though I called it quits before I really hurt myself, today I have a fairly stiff neck. Having learned from Saturday's outing, I was prepared with padding. It didn't really matter though. By the end of the day I was so soaked through, it was hard to tell the source of the moisture.
