Changing Times
This afternoon I was listening to a newscast concerning rising food prices. Apparently the government's myopic attempt to grow our way into energy self-sufficiency is all ready failing. The boosted ethanol production has caused farmers to stop growing food & instead switch to growing corn.
Last week I heard a report micro-breweries are warning beer price is about to rise. The increase is attributed to rising raw material costs. The world's two major hop growing regions both had crop failures. And malted barley is in short supply because production was replaced with a more profitable crop - corn.
I remember when I was a kid people used to say "A little bit of knowledge goes a long way". With all the polarized arguments the "experts" are regurgitating, that saying has become "A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing".
